Boats

Image
After so much perseverance and effort from the infants, their boats are finally finished! The children really have done Mrs Chapman and Miss Furness so proud. They started this project by sawing and splitting the wood themselves, then showed such resilience in whittling it into their desired boat shape (which is no easy task!). The children then sanded their boats and whittled their masts ready for the finishing touch. Topped with flags bearing crests of the children’s own designs, these boats are really a project to be proud of.

Cross country

What an afternoon! We welcomed a group from Peak Dale primary school for an afternoon of cross country, tri-golf and football skills run by High Peak School & Sport Partnership. The atmosphere was amazing and the children showed fantastic sportsmanship.   Cross country                                                                                            Football     Tri-golf

Making boats

Image
Tigers and Bears have been working on making boats since before Easter. Whenever we find a time to saw, split, whittle or drill, we love to get one step further with our boats. Today, most children finished their whittling and drilled a hole for their mast. Tigers class will be designing pirate flags next to fit with our topic. The children have shown dedication and determination throughout this project and it is wonderful to see how proud they are of their creations. Watch this space for the finished products…
