Triangles and circles

This week in Maths we have been focusing on the triangles and circles.  We started by going on a shape hunt around the school grounds to see what shapes we could find. We worked as a team to make the shapes using string. We used natural materials to make large scale triangles. Then we made a picture of a house, thinking about the different shapes for each part of building.     Today, we looked at some art work that Kandinsky created, discussing the different shapes he used. Then we created our own versions using water colours and crayons.

Bonfire night Forest schools

Image
To celebrate Bonfire night, we had a fire this afternoon during Forest schools. Once the fire was hot enough, we put sugar and treacle into a bowl and heated it over the fire to make toffee.  When the toffee was ready, we dipped apples into the toffee to make toffee apples. The Bears and Tigers enjoying eating them and singing campfire songs together after they'd set.
