Unusual footprints

Image
After break time, the children found footprints outside our classroom and a some things hidden under the mat in our classroom. There was a map, mayonnaise, a magnet, milk, and the letter 'm'. The children discovered that everything started with the 'm' and must belong to Max from our new story 'where the wild things are'.   We then sorted other objects into things that begin with 'm' and things that don't .  The Bears enjoyed making boats, like the private boat Max sailed in, and testing them in the water to see if they floated.

Me, me, me oh my, how I love my apple pie

Wow! What a great week we're having. This morning, the Bears made an apple pie together. They worked together to peel and chop the apples as well as measuring out and making the pastry for the pie. After laying out the pastry in the dish and adding the apples, they then washed up and dryed all the equipment as a team.

In our Geography lessons the infants have been learning all about human and physical features. Today we have been looking at the human features within Taddington. We walked down through the village, identifying what features were around us before finding some shade and drawing what we had seen.

Today the Bears took full advantage of our woodland to plan their stories in the shade. The children have been planning their very own stories based on our class book, ‘The Odd Egg’ by Emily Gravett.

Chatsworth Trip πŸ„

On Wednesday the reception children enjoyed their trip to Chatsworth. We spent some time exploring the house, building and developing our teamwork in the sand area and of course spending lots of time with the animals. I think the guinea pigs were the firm favourite!
