Independent writing
Today the bears had a go at writing about their favourite part of the story ‘Stick Man’. They used their knowledge of the high frequency words and phonics learnt so far to write their sentences.
Unusual footprints
After break time, the children found footprints outside our classroom and a some things hidden under the mat in our classroom. There was a map, mayonnaise, a magnet, milk, and the letter 'm'. The children discovered that everything started with the 'm' and must belong to Max from our new story 'where the wild things are'. We then sorted other objects into things that begin with 'm' and things that don't . The Bears enjoyed making boats, like the private boat Max sailed in, and testing them in the water to see if they floated.
