Good morning.

Hello!

How are you all? What are your plans for today? We're moving house, which is mostly crazy but very exciting. We got the keys last night and camped out in our new house. We have rented a van so hopefully we'll be all moved by the end of the day. Fingers crossed.

I've tryed to upload your pictures from yesterday but I only have the phone internet, not WiFi at the moment and it doesn't want to work. Thank you for sharing them, I love your hammock Connie. When I have Wifi later I will upload them.

    Good luck with the move Miss F. Very exciting. Layla wants to know if there is lots you are going to change in your new house and whether you have nice new next door neighbours. Connie wants to know what your new house is like and if it has a pond in your garden.

      Thanks! Not too to change Layla, maybe a little painting. We haven't met any neighbours yet so I'll get back to you on that one. It's on a hill so there are lovely views but no pond Connie, maybe we'll have to put one in!

Odds and evens investigation

 Today, we've been investigating which numbers are odd and which are even. The children went into the mud kitchen area and counted out flowers, sticks, bugs etc. then split each number of objects into 2 groups to see if they could be shared equally. They then recorded their findings and looked for patterns.  Sharing 3 flowers into 2 groups Looking for bugs to share. Checking to see if one flower can be shared into 2 groups. Recording their findings. Sharing pebbles into 2 baskets.

The Extraordinarily Gardener

 The children have been getting stuck into our new book- The Extraordinary Gardener this week. Before reading the story, we used our inference and thought about why the character might be extraordinary. The children decided it must be because of all the unusual creatures and plants growing on the front cover. They didn't think that a child gardening was extraordinary as they all enjoy gardening themselves. In the story, Joe is very creative and creates all sorts of interesting creatures and plants to make the world more exciting. The children have created their own plants and creatures with extraordinary features using various different material. They then wrote about their features and what species they are.
