Little visitors in our woodland

 The infants arrived in the woodland to find a tree spirit on a tree guarding the remains of the Choo Choo people’s village.



The tree spirit had been told to look after the village whilst the little people went on holiday but unfortunately the village had been destroyed by something larger. The children decided to rebuild the village for when the Choo Choo people returned and made more tree spirits to guard the new houses.








The children did a fantastic job of rebuilding the village, some brilliant teamwork and imagination!

 Our Week In maths, we have been exploring 3D shapes, which shapes roll and which shapes stack.  We discovered that shapes need be curved to roll and have a flat face to stack. The drum was a cylinder and could roll. In literacy we have started reading 'Look Up', a story all about a young girl who dreams of becoming an astronaut!  We read how Rocket was inspired by Mae Jemison, the first African -American woman in space. Bears didn't think it was fair that African-American people were stopped from following their dreams. We spotted our phonics sounds through our telescope. We then shared, what we dreamed of doing in the future, from becoming an artist to being an ice cream seller. We also counted down as we watched the astronauts take off in the space shuttle and wondered what it would be like to be in space.
