The Great Wall of China

This Afternoon, we have been learning about one of the most famous landmarks in China- The Great Wall. The Children were amazed by how long it took, how long ago it was built and how many men it took to build it. After making our own version of the wall, it really helped us to understand the magnitude of it. 

We made one version out of play dough, the children took on different roles e.g. brick makers and the builders.

They made it as long as the table using individual bricks they’d made!

Another version was made out of Duplo. These children  didn’t need to make their own bricks but they were determined to make it tall enough to keep out any intruders.
