Dear Zoo

 Animal Safari

As part of our new topic, Animal Safari, Bears have been reading Dear Zoo by Rod Campbell. We looked at the features of the animals that were sent from the zoo in the book and decided if any of the animals would be suitable as a pet. Bears decided that a pet elephant would be far too big and take up too much room. Also, we wouldn't want to clean up after it! A giraffe would be too tall and bang it's head on the lights. Most of Bears agreed it would be fun to have a cheeky monkey as pet.

We used our gross and fine motor skills to hold, draw around a stencil and cut out our chosen animal.

We explored and investigated which countries some of the animals came from.

We went on our own safari and tried to spot some animals  with our binoculars. We spotted some sheep, lambs, birds and a horse!
