Topic - On the Beach

 Holidays In The Past

As part of our topic, On the Beach, Bears have been having a jolly old time looking at holidays in the past. 

People have had holidays on the beach for many years and we  discussed and compared days at the beach in the past with our experiences. We shared how we travelled to the beach, what we wore and things that we enjoyed doing at the beach. People in the past came by train, wore knitted swimsuits made from wool and often came to the beach dressed in their best clothes. The men sometimes wore shirts, trousers and jackets and the women wore their best clothes and most people wore hats.

We noticed that the pictures and film footage that we looked at from the past, were black and white, not colour. We learnt that there were no colour pictures taken in the past, they would paint a photograph if they wanted it be in colour. Bears dressed up as people from the past and we took our own black and white photographs.
