A look back at a wonderful Monday in school

I had a few technical issues yesterday which prevented me from posting. Here is what I was going to share with you:

It has been such a joy to have so many children back in school today. They have done us all proud! The positivity and enthusiasm that they have all shown is just wonderful. 

This afternoon, we worked on mapping skills (but I was obviously too absorbed to grab a photo). The children then used their imaginations to get creative.

George got busy digging a ‘swimming pool’

All sorts of wonderful structures and dens were made.



Lots of the children made these excellent ‘lettuces/cabbages’.

I am thoroughly looking forward to another day of fun, laughter and learning with our fantastic children again today.

    George told me on the way home he been digging a swimming pool in the school garden. Now after seeing on the blog, I know now what he means!! Looks like everyone else had a fun day.

 Our Week In maths, we have been exploring 3D shapes, which shapes roll and which shapes stack.  We discovered that shapes need be curved to roll and have a flat face to stack. The drum was a cylinder and could roll. In literacy we have started reading 'Look Up', a story all about a young girl who dreams of becoming an astronaut!  We read how Rocket was inspired by Mae Jemison, the first African -American woman in space. Bears didn't think it was fair that African-American people were stopped from following their dreams. We spotted our phonics sounds through our telescope. We also counted down as we watched the astronauts take off in the space shuttle and wondered what it would be like to be in space. Bears It was another busy week in Bears!  We have been looking at the Topic, Me and My Community. We made portraits of ourselves and talked about t he special people in our live's, families and friendships. We all had such a lovely time making friends at the Friendship Cafe.
