Outdoor phonics and maths

This morning we played phonics games and maths games outside. 

First we did phonics. The children were given sounds, they the had to skip, hop, jump or run to a word that included that sound. They had great fun and were brilliant at sounding out and blending the words, I am very impressed. Each time they found a word with the correct sound and read the word accurately they added a tick next to their name chalked on the floor.

Later, I got in a muddle with labelling the amount of blocks in each tower around the playground. The children whizzed round on their bikes, counted the blocks and corrected my mistakes. 

What a brilliant bunch.
