Maths - Exploring Patterns
Exploring Patterns
Bears have been looking at different types of patterns and making our own repeat patterns. We looked at simple patterns using two colours, two shapes or two sizes.
We then went outside and looked for patterns around us. We spotted patterns in the fencing, on buildings and grids, even on wellies. We made chalk and wax crayon rubbings so we could see the pattern and then also made more complex patterns. In exploring making patterns with the Numicon, we also made 3D patterns. We also discovered that there are patterns in the rhythm and the words of songs and word patterns in the stories we read. The children loved hunting for
patterns, we discovered patterns are everywhere!
