  Our Week  This week Bears have been learning all about the meaning of Christmas.  We have decorated our Christmas tree, been exploring the story of the Nativity and took part in our performance of Baarmy Bethlehem. We were invited to visit St Micheal and All Angels church for biscuits, juice and to listen to the Nativity story. In our topic Puppets and Pop-ups, we practiced our cutting skills and made our own nativity scenes.

Our Week  In our topic Marvellous Machines, we have been exploring how different  machines work and their uses. Bears have been enjoying making their own machines and playing in the ice.  We made a 'lemonade maker' and 'slushy maker'.  In literacy, we have been finishing our book 'Look Up'. We retold the story from the beginning, looked at what happened next and talked about what happened at the end of the story. We used our pictures to sequence the story and then we imagined what we would look up to in the sky and wrote our own stories.  We practiced our writing using our phonic sticks, creating words using our sounding out in phonics and writing in our books. On a Friday morning, Bears enjoy DEAR time, Drop Everything and Read. Bears have practicing our Nativity! We have enjoyed singing the songs and are looking forward to showing everyone the full Nativity next week!

 Our Week   Bears have been exploring the changes in the weather and the seasons in our outdoor learning. We put on our woolly hats and spotted some of the seasonal changes that have taken place in the woods. We discovered that the water had frozen in the cold and had made some ice and that there were no longer many leaves on any of the trees. Bears were glad to find a cosy den to hide in!  In our companion project Puppets and Pop Ups, we have been using a variety of puppets to retell stories and to use our imagination to make and tell our own stories.  In our topic Marvellous Machines, we designed and made our own junk rockets and launched them down the wire. Our Week  In our topic Marvellous Machines, we have been exploring how different  machines work and their uses. In the lesson, 'Speak up!', we  made our own machines to speak and listen to one another.   We discovered that the sound travels through the vibration of the string and we could hear what was being said through the cone of the cup. Maths During maths, we pretended to ride our bikes around the class and parked our cars in the garage to explore '1 more '. Literacy In literacy, Bears have been continuing their 'space' journey, following the adventures of little girl called Rocket in the book, Look Up.  We were given a special space mission by NASA to pack a bag and to put a cat in a pet box! We were getting ready for a journey into space. We used our phonic sounds and blending to follow the instructions. Clubbercise The Bears, and Mrs Halford! had lots of fun in our Clubbercise session. We had great fun dancing to the music and waving our glow sticks...

  Children In Need  Today our sports ambassadors led the Work It Out with Joe Wicks session as part of Children In need. We all joined Joe live online and the sports ambassadors gave us a warm up, encouraged and guided us through the workout. Terrific Tablets   Bears have been exploring tablets and ipads. We talked about how we use tablets or smartphones at home. Looked at the tablet's features, including the power button, camera and the apps available for the us to use.  We then used our tablets to take photos, play games and read online. We also played an online jigsaw game. We then talked about if we had to make a game online, what would be in the game. We had many ideas from a racing car game to a pony running and you have to ride it! Keeping Safe Online   Bears have been learning about how to keep safe online.
