Harry Finch

Over the last week, we have been reading the story ‘Henry Finch’. We have had lots of discussions about what Henry is thinking, throughout the story. Henry uses his thoughts to help to overcome a tricky situation and persuade the beast to do the right thing and therefore save himself and his friends from the him.

Today a Finch from Henry’s flock- Harry Finch arrived in our classroom wanting our help.

The children were really excited to read the tag around his neck and discuss how they could help him. We decided it would be best to put some thought into it, so we wrote notes, letting him know that we would help him after we’ve decide the best way to do so.

The Bears are starting to select the high frequency words they are learning to read, to use in their writing as well as sounding out unfamiliar words in their sentences. What a bunch of superstars!
